About the Artist
Paul Geraghty was awarded a BA(Hons) in Fine Art from Stoke on Trent School of Art and is a postgraduate of Goldsmiths' College, University of London.
He is
a member of the National
Acrylic Painters Association.
For 10 years, Paul taught art in several inner city comprehensive schools in London before moving to Shrewsbury to continue teaching in Shropshire. Since 1997 Paul has been living and working in Cornwall, where his studio overlooks Porthmeor Beach.
He

Paul's most recent solo exhibition was "Sea Changes" which was held at the Waterside Gallery, St.Ives in June 2007. He has held a two man exhibition at Runcorn Art Centre and one man shows at St.Ives Town Library (Sea and Sky), in 2003 and at the Gateway Gallery, Shrewsbury (Postcards from St.Ives), in July 2004. Recently he has exhibited with N.A.P.A. at the Williamson Art Gallery, Birkenhead and has been presented with the Adrian Henri Memorial Award for the three consecutive years, (2003, 2004 and 2005).
Paul
was awarded the "President's
Award" for the best painting at the National Acrylic Painters
Association's 20th National Exhibition held at the Mariners Gallery,
St.Ives in
October 2004. He has also been awarded the Fine Art Trade Guild Award in
November 2005, the Daler-Rowney
Best Painting Award in November 2006 and "The Artist" Best Painting Award
2007.
In
October 2008 he was awarded the Daler
Rowney Award for the "Best British Painting" at the Obsidian
Gallery, Buckinghamshire.
In
October 2009 Paul was awarded the Adrian
Henri Memorial Award at the National Acrylic Painters
Association's Annual Exhibition, (NAPA's 25th Anniversary), which was
held at the View Two Gallery, Matthew Street, Liverpool.
